RF Current meter and
Magnetic Receiver Balun Kits
Hear are the first photos of the new RF Current
Meter and the new Magnetic Receiving Balun.
These will be on show at the next group meeting in
January.
RF Current meter
will:-
-
Measure RF current flowing in your
coaxial feed line to the antenna.
-
Measure RF current flowing on you
long wire antenna or open feed line.
-
Measure RF current between your
radio and your ground connection (earth).
-
To be able to make a relative
measurement of RF current allows you to peak your antenna and ground earth
system for max performance. Eliminate stray RF currents and nasty RF bites and
RF feedback.
-
Use the meter to locate sources of
incorrect RF grounding.
Magnetic Receiving
Balun will:-
-
Allow connection of your
communications receiver to an outside long wire antenna and help avoid pick up
of unwanted noise by feeding the antenna with coaxial cable.
-
Provide a path to ground to
eliminate static discharge noise from your long wire antenna inferring with
reception.
-
Help provide a match to 50 Ohms,
the impedance of most communications receivers at the antenna connection. The
impedance of a long wire can climb well over 600 Ohms and without some form of
impedance match you will not gain maximum performance from your
antenna.
-
Allow coaxial connection of the
antenna, this overcomes the problem of long wire antennas been too close to
sources of RF noise,IE:- fans, computers, TV's appliances
etc.
-
Overcomes the need to have a
separate antenna tuner for reception purposes.
